Starting March 12, schools in California will no longer require students to wear masks, although coverings are still strongly recommended. San Mateo County (SMC) will not add local health orders to guidelines on masking in schools.

Coming back from winter break, the Omicron
variant of COVID-19 left many students anxious about their return to school.
San Mateo County, however, offered a solution. They unveiled their new COVID-19 testing plan in a press release
on Jan. 5.
On Oct. 26, city council members held a public hearing at the city council meeting for new legislation
about wireless telecommunication regulations, which encompasses changes to how wireless facilities, like cell phone towers, are approved and built.
The Belmont Police Department (BPD) participated in 2021’s Pink Patch Project, an initiative that started in Southern California in 2013 to raise awareness for breast cancer.
